What is your name and current position?
Sharon Arena, Marketing Coordinator.
How long have you been employed at Olmec?
Since Spring 2021.
What office are you based out of?
I’m based out of the New Jersey office, but work remotely out of my home.
Why did you join Olmec?
I saw an opportunity to help an established business with their marketing and make them shine! Plus, as someone who can’t even get her wireless printer to work – I saw it as an opportunity to learn more about the world of IT.
What is the most interesting or favorite part of your job?
Last month I was helping with developing the new website. Since we needed photos, I arranged a photo shoot of some team members and around the building. It was a blast! Was nice to meet people face-to-face and spend time scoping the amazing office space at Olmec.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Learning! My background in marketing has taught me to start with building a marketing strategy and implement them. I’ve been having a blast getting to know Olmec’s employees, and look forward to being part of the Olmec team for years to come.
When you think of Olmec’s culture, what 3 words come to mind?
What are all these amazing parties I keep hearing about? But honestly, I love the communication, energy, and team efforts. Being new, I found it easy to ask questions and jump into conversations. I love that even though I’m new, I like being included as part of the team – like I’ve been here for years.
What are your hobbies outside of Olmec?
I’m not sure if golf is considered a hobby, isn’t a hobby something you’re supposed to enjoy doing? I also love spending my downtime next to a pool with a good book.
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
Hmm. If I had to mention one, I’d say when I was in 3rd grade, I placed in the top 10% in the country for problem-solving – as in puzzles.
